Some places become part of who we are.
I’ve been coming to Tanner Park since I was a child. I returned as a teenager, and now as an adult. No matter what stage of life I was in, this place always felt the same—peaceful. It’s where people come to watch the water, sit beneath the trees, and let the weight of the day drift away with the breeze.
When I painted this piece, I wanted to capture that feeling of stillness and familiarity. But I also added a small, almost hidden UFO in the distance. It’s a quiet reminder that even in the places we know by heart, there may still be room for wonder, unanswered questions, and a little mystery.
Perhaps that’s why we keep returning—not just for the peace, but for the possibility that there’s always something more waiting to be discovered.
